Prompting tips for this model
- Specify output format explicitly -- 'return as a numbered list' or 'format as a table' consistently improves output clarity.
- Add a quality bar to important prompts: 'This output goes directly to a client. It must require no editing before sending.'
- Use follow-up prompts to refine: 'Make section 3 more specific with a concrete example' beats starting over.
Common mistakes
- Vague role definitions reduce output quality. 'Act as an expert' gives less direction than a specific role with relevant experience.
- Missing format instructions. ChatGPT defaults to paragraphs without guidance -- always specify the output structure for structured tasks.
